Head Coach and Owner: Adham Abou Taleb

Adham started playing squash in the UK at the age of 9.  He quickly rose through the ranks winning 3 Kent Country Champion Titles.  He played #1 for various clubs and leagues in Engalnd, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic and was the winner of over 30 tournaments and 8 international Open titles.  Adham achieved his top world ranking of 58 in 1996 and then turned his eyes to coaching.  He has numerous coaching achievements including:

  • Coached Manuela Zehnder to many European tournament wins

  • Head Coach of Swiss Women National Team that won the Bronze Medal at 2001 European Championship

  • Head Squash Professional at the Bronxville Field Club from 2008-2014

o   Coached five #1 ranked junior players in different age groups

  • Coached every athlete of The Bronxville Middle School Squash Team over a span of 6 years

o   National Champions Division I and II in 2014/15 season

  • Coaches and mentors many juniors to compete at the National level in bronze, silver, gold and JCT tournaments

“Adham is one of those rare, exceptional coaches that gives a junior player the outlook and focus to best enable him to reach his maximum potential. Adham focuses on critical match moments and teaches visualization techniques so that a player can constantly stay positive, believing that he would win those critical points during matches. He prepares the player to better handle those critical points emotionally and add more psychological control to the game at an age when most juniors cannot exercise similar control.”
-Nick Matthew, Two-time Squash World Champion & former World number 1

“We feel very lucky to have met Adham eight years ago.  He is a world-class coach who has been molding American children into highly competitive squash players since he arrived in 2008.  Adham came to New York as an internationally renowned and distinguished squash professional of extraordinary ability.  He has been coaching our son, Tyler (age 15) since October 2008.  In that time, Adham has proven himself to be a phenomenal mentor and coach.  Tyler’s squash skills have improved dramatically under Adham’s guidance.  After working with Adham, Tyler was ranked #1 in the United States in the boys under 11 age division, and up until the beginning of May, when Tyler turned 15, he was the #1 ranked squash player in the nation in boys under 15.  This is a reflection of Adham’s coaching ability and his commitment to the players he trains.  Our younger son, Coulter (age 13) was also ranked as high as #2 and #3 in the under 11 and 13 age divisions, and he recently won the New York Closed in the Boys Under 15 Division.  Adham is one of the premier junior coaches in the country and since opening Westchester Squash Academy, he has completely dedicated himself to building a program that supports all players, from beginners to National Champions.  Adham knows how to motivate his players to achieve their full potential.  He leads by example, stressing the importance of sportsmanship and instilling a strong work ethic.  We look forward to many more years of Adham’s involvement in our family’s squash journey!”
