Join the inaugural squash team at The Leffell School!

Join our pioneering team to learn and play an amazing sport that is renowned for producing scholar-athletes and school leaders. Squash is physical, cerebral, and produces lifelong bonds of friendship and support. Best, it’s incredibly fun.

Our goal is to launch the inaugural season of Leffell Lions Squash. We’ll compete against area schools in a US Squash high school league. We have our coaching team and training facility lined up, and it’s the same coaching team that launched the Scarsdale High squash team in 2022, which has grown to 20 players and competed in Nationals in 2023.

And we have committed players. All we need is a few more teammates.

UPDATE: try squash at the Leffell Lions Squash Open House! This Sunday November 10 at 5pm!
See Coach D for details!

Leffell Lions Squash sets a foundation for achievement for all ages.

Our goal for Year 1 of Leffell Lions Squash is to field our first team. The team roster will have 9-12 players.

We are currently working to gauge interest among both middle school and high school boys and girls.  Depending on the number of players, we can field multiple teams (co-ed, boys, girls, middle school, high school or mixed).

We can also create a development team for elementary school kids to get a head start on future competition.

Beginners are welcome. High school squash matches field 7 players ranked by ability, so that top players play top players, and beginners play beginners.

Leffell Lions Squash has lined up world-class coaching and practice facilities with Westchester Squash.

Our practices are held at Westchester Squash in Mamaroneck, and are twice weekly (most likely Tuesdays, Thursdays, or weekends). There are usually about 12 matches during the November-March season. Traditionally in the first year of a school’s league entry there are fewer.

Equipment required includes a racquet, protective goggles, and court shoes with non-marking soles. We can provide guidance on purchasing, and these all can be provided by Westchester Squash if it’s a burden.

We’ll also be looking for a group of supportive parents to volunteer to carpool once weekly; Westchester Squash is about 15-20 minutes from The Leffell School.

World-Class Instruction.

“Whether the format is a private lesson, clinic or supervised matchplay, Adham delivers customized advice to all levels of players. Everyone learns and has fun at the same time. There is a unique sense of community among the staff and members."

He is my mentor and coach.

"Adham brings to the table a remarkable awareness of the game that few to none can match. He seamlessly delivers knowledge to people of all ages and playing levels. Someone totally unfamiliar with the game can go on the court with Adham and connect to squash right away. I have seen it happen time and time again. Likewise, an experienced professional or high-ranking junior steps on with him for a lesson, that person invariably leaves the court with new skills and perspective."

Inviting Atmosphere.

I really love the club, the prices for beverages are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and the club is in great condition. The coaches help new players and existing players to achieve whatever they want to achieve, whether it be recreational play, or to become a pro. I could spend an entire day there practicing and hanging out at the club.
